Let's get some discussion started! What is your favorite cover? There are so many good ones that I'd have to post by era. Of the early books, my favorite is either #30 or #17. What about you?
Like potato chips, i can’t pick just one, but any cover with Basil Gogos artwork always catches my eye. I had the opportunity to meet him at NYCC the year before he passed away. I had been wandering the floor of the Con for hours and was getting ready to leave when I saw his book on a display. I picket it up, started thumbing through it and I said to my friend who was with me, and more to myself “Wow Basil Gogos” and from the other side of the display I heard someone say “Yes, and would you like me to sign it?” I looked up and found myself face to face with him. He was wonderful, very gracious, we had a brief chat, he signed my copy of his book. A great way to end a Con.
The profile picture is not a mask, but latex face pieces, Yak hair, and latex make up forms to the skin. Had red contact and of course a nice set of teeth.... 4 hour application time. Second picture is "Mr Hyde" latex pieces, Yak hair. Both for Halloween. 3 hour app time on Hyde. Love this stuff.
Issue 4 "Ghouls Eye" edition, but also non-eye issue as well. Also August 1963, Vol.5, No.3. Has great expo on "Werewolf of London" with great painted cover of Henry Hull as Dr. Glendon, the unfortunate Lycanthrope. Fabulous article by Edward Eustace, compares, the "Werewolf of London" makes "Dracula" look like as sissy" when comparing the brutality between the characters. A great read.

Of these two I vote for #30. My favorite though is the Phantom Of The Opera cover
