My Famous Monsters of filmland Story

This is a rehash of my "About" page here on the site but thanks for checking it out! Please add your story!

I was born in 1965 so I was a bit late to the Famous Monsters party. My first issue was the 1972 Fearbook. Following a day of fishing, my dad purchased it for me at the Navy PX at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. I was 7 or 8 and once I got my hands on it, I was hooked! That cover drew me in and freaked me out. I had to have more.

I was already a horror fan by that time...religiously watching Creature Feature on WDCA Channel 20 in DC with the legendary host Count Gore De Vol @goredevol played by Dick Dyszel. DC's version of Zacherley!
